Examples of cifer-RA!

As I wonder the infinite black of cyber-space, I am over joyed to find kindred sprits ... those who dare bring forth from their hearts and mind the phenomenon I call -

cifer-RA

cifer-RA - a genre of fiction, that is Speculative, African Centered, and Metaphysical in scope, as it relates to the idea of harmony; or disharmony, between the biological, technological, and the spiritual. It is literary cosmology, spun in a new way, striving for a new day.

The folks over at Djedi Sudios are doing just that.

I started out as a hard core Marvel comic book fan. There were one or two DC comics that I gravitated towards, but by and large, I was Marvel all the way. Now I'm more of an Indy, Dark Horse, and Image comic book reader. But this Mr. Terrific is a cool comic book to me. It's getting some negative reviews, but luckily I have my own mind.

For me, DC has a winner. Mr. Terrific is the third smartest man in the DC universe. He uses his mind to battle the super villains in his story arc. I just finished issue two, and this dude is kicking it in the 9th dimension! I mean the dialogue is tight, the art is smooth, and the overall vibe of this book breaks the usual Black Brute comics that pop-up from time to time. I hope this book will last, but if history is a good indicator of things to come, I'm not going to hold my breath. But for now, I'll continue to support this book for as long as it's printed.

Sut'Dia is a bad ass. He is one of my favorite characters. I initially developed several panels of Sut'Dia beating the hell out of a pride of Neo-cats. I imagined a blood soaked Sut'Dia bringing swift death to the scourge of the Aru'malan plains. I decided not to use the above pic in Issue One of NETERS, but you can bet you will see this pic; or similar ones, in future issues of NETERS.

We live in interesting times.

I don't have HBO. Wish I did. I bet Superheroes: for real, was an interesting show.

To me, this is easily one of the best things to come out in 2011 on the indy tip. A coloring book featuring Black super powered characters. Make sure to put this on your list of thing-to-get. read more...

Good Times!

These are really good times for a guy who grew up reading comic books. I continue to be amazed at how accurate the portrayals are of some of my favorite characters. The Hulk looks like the Hulk; though Ang Lee’s Hulk did more Hulk-like things ... the Fantastic Four, Superman, and Batman, Blade, and Iron Man, all seemed to have burst from the pages of the stack of comics I have wasting away in my garage.

So I’ve had a chance to view the Captain America trailer. I’m no big Cap fan, but this looks good. I plan on taking the family to watch this flic on a sunny Saturday afternoon. Yeah ... yeah, I watched the Thor trailer too. The Destroyer looks fantastic. Heimdall ... not so much.
